What does this mean? We will simply tell you that the most important e-shops and e-commerce agencies take part in this competition every year and believe us, the competition is very high. Since you read this far, let us tell you a few things about Botilia's story. It all started a few years ago with a group of friends with a passion for wine and a blog. Angelos Damoulianos, the founder of botilia, got the wine flu so he created a blog in which he wrote about Greek wines he tasted with his oenologist friends and wine experts. The wines came mainly from small, unknown wineries that they visited and most of the wines were not available on the market. The followers of the blog were quickly rising, with several of them wanting to participate in the group’s orders. As you can imagine, it didn't take long for the blog to become an online wine shop that would bring to your doorstep the rarest, Greek wines from boutique wineries.
Since then botilia has grown a lot! The team behind the restless and always innovative creator, is made up of passionate wine experts: sommeliers, wine connoisseurs, oenologists, DipWSETs who are looking for and finding only the best wines from Greece, from small, boutique wineries, hard to find varieties and rare bottlings. Later this was not enough for us and we started exploring the world map and discovering extraordinary wines from all over the world. We are very strict in the selection of the wines. Our motto is “If we wouldn’t buy it, it won’t be on botilia.gr”. Now in botilia’s range, you can find the best wines of all the renowned, but also of the most upcoming, regions of the world. There is also a special section on natural wines, the big trend of the season, with all the information you need to know.
At this point, we have to say that botilia has created an innovative AI application, MySommelier. What is it? You can find the wines that suit you as a sommelier would recommend them in a restaurant or wine bar, by answering 7 simple questions. You can evaluate every single wine you try and make MySommelier's choices even more personal, perfect right?
But our strongest asset is the personal relationship we have with you. We are always a phone call or an email away to suggest what wines you will get for a specific dinner, for a feast or even for your wedding. Fortunately, we always remember what you like and so our suggestions are personal because you are unique to us! When allowed, we make sure we get to know each other and have fun, either by organizing open day parties at our headquarters, wine tastings, and wine seminars or through secret wine experiences in incredible places! Even during covid lockdown, we did not lose our communication with you because we made sure to come to your house through virtual wine tastings, tasting with you, for the first time, all the "hot" new wines and everything that interested you.
Finally, we would like to say thank you. Yes, awards are very important but the greatest reward of all is the trust you have shown us all these years by letting us in your home, at important and everyday moments. Botilia would not be the best online wine shop without you!
