The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup (or simply the Mundial, as we all know it) has entered its final stretch! Greece may not have made it to the stadiums of the United States, Mexico and Canada, but we're certain you've been tuning in every day to watch the world's most iconic and beloved football tournament.
This Mundial has delivered plenty of thrills. The host nations exceeded expectations, football powerhouses crashed out early (the Germans probably drowned their sorrows in Riesling), underdogs proved that heart and determination can go toe-to-toe with the biggest stars, while some countries should finally admit they're better at making wine than kicking a football (New Zealand and Australia, we're looking at you). One thing is certain: we've all been glued to the edge of our sofas, watching the scorelines change right until the very last second.
Now, the moment we've all been waiting for is almost here. The Grand Final that will crown the new World Cup champions is just around the corner. The semi-final matchups are set, and the battles promise to be spectacular. France, Spain, Argentina and England will fight for a place in football history. France has looked like a perfectly tuned machine and seems ready to take on Spain, a team that started the tournament slowly but has improved with every match. At 38, Messi continues to perform miracles and looks determined to lead Argentina to a second consecutive World Cup final, while England, in outstanding form, appears more ready than ever to finally "bring it home."
