Jancis Robinson MW is the iron lady of wine criticism and one of the most influential figures in the world of wine. She has consistently showcased Greek wines through articles published on her platform, JancisRobinson.com, as well as in newspapers such as the Financial Times.
She has repeatedly expressed her appreciation for the quality and diversity of Greek wines. In fact, in a 2005 article, she stated that Greece meets all the criteria to emerge as a rising wine region, with a rich vineyard of indigenous grape varieties and immense geographical diversity. She also emphasized that Greek wines are not overpriced but instead offer excellent quality at affordable prices.
Each year, she conducts an evaluation of Greek wines an initiative that forms part of her strategy to promote regions with unexplored and promising potential, while helping both consumers and industry professionals discover new and high-quality options from Greece.
This year, the annual assessment included more than 100 Greek wines, evaluated by Jancis Robinson MW herself and her close collaborator Julia Harding MW. The two experts assessed not only the quality of the wines at the time of tasting but also their potential to evolve over time.
